The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19-year-olds whose parents earn more than $65,000, saying it will encourage them to find work. The policy will also apply to young beneficiaries with a health condition or disability who have had to stop work for a period of time or reduce their hours.Thirty people have been arrested at a demonstration outside an aerospace summit in Christchurch. Reporters at the scene said about a dozen were chained together near the entrance to Te Pae Convention Centre.
